Chief of Police – Cass Township Schuylkill County, PA

Cass Township, Schuylkill County, PA (population of 1,800), is seeking a Chief of Police to reinstate law enforcement services in the Township. This management position is supervised by three members of the Board of Supervisors.

The successful candidate: • will possess a demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in modern police administrative and operational practices, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, labor relations, and exceptional leadership and management skills. • will be expected to advance the perception of the department through modern and progressive policing methods that are supported by the community and be proficient with development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures. • will be expected to maintain a visible presence in the Township’s residential areas and the business district. • will have the ability to work cooperatively with Municipal Administration and citizens, as well as Local, County, State, and Federal officials. • will have served at least ten (10) years as a certified police officer and possess a minimum of two (2) years of recent police related administrative and supervisory experience. The successful candidate will pass a physical and psychological exam and drug screening. A thorough background exam will be conducted. The candidate must be currently certified under Pennsylvania Act 120. Salary is dependent upon experience and qualifications.
