The City of Columbia Falls is recruiting for a new Patrol Officer. The Patrol Officer performs police patrol, investigations, traffic regulation, and related community policing activities within our city of approximately 5,500 people. The CFPD’s mission is to improve the life, safety, and health of all who live, visit, or pass through our city and is dedicated to proactive policing methods to ensure we meet these standards. The Police Department currently has twelve sworn officers including the Chief, two Sergeants, two Detectives, School Resource Officer, and six Patrolmen. Starting wage is $26.78 per hour with annual step increases, additional stipends and room for advancement per the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The City offers an exceptional benefit package that includes health, vision, and dental insurance; current city contribution is 90% of the cost, $1200 annual uniform allowance, MPORS, and excellent training opportunities. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid Montana Driver’s License, and have no felony convictions. Applicants must be able to pass an oral interview, written exam, physical fitness exam, psychological exam, and an extensive background investigation. POST-certified applicants will be given preference and former military members are encouraged to apply.
