Starting Salary: $24.74/hour, plus an additional $1.00/hour shift differential for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM

Key Responsibilities:

Public Safety and Law Enforcement:
- Patrol airport terminals and property to detect and respond to criminal activity and ensure safety.
- Provide security support at TSA checkpoints.

Emergency Response:
- Respond to aircraft emergencies, extinguish fires, perform rescues, and deliver first responder medical care.
- Operate and maintain crash trucks, firefighting equipment, and emergency tools.

Airport Operations:
- Monitor airfield operations for compliance with FAA and TSA regulations.
- Inspect and ensure runway, taxiway, and tarmac safety, including during inclement weather.

Wildlife Hazard Management:
- Identify and mitigate wildlife hazards in accordance with the Wildlife Hazard Management Plan.

Training and Community Engagement:
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain certifications.
- Provide guidance to airport tenants and employees on safety protocols.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree or 2 years of college in Criminal Justice, Fire Science, or a related field preferred.
Licenses and Certifications (Required within One Year of Hire):
- Class A Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) License.
- Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (ARFF) Certification for Part 139 Compliance.
- First Responder Certification and CPR Certification.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws.
- Proficiency in operating specialized vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, remain composed in high-pressure situations, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment and Schedule:

Environment:
- Work both indoors and outdoors, including during extreme weather conditions.
- Frequent exposure to environmental hazards, loud noises, and confined spaces.

Physical Demands:
- Must frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
- May be required to wear respirators, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), and other personal protective equipment (PPE).

Schedule:
- Shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
