CHIEF OF POLICE
Leet Township, Allegheny County, PA, is searching for a Chief of Police to be responsible for a department of four full-time and four part-time officers. In addition to supervisory and administrative duties, the Chief shall also carry out the same duties as regular officers.
A minimum of an associate degree in criminal justice administration, 15 years of police experience as a full-time sworn police officer, five years of experience as a full-time supervisor with the rank of Lieutenant or above, that has actively supervised a minimum of two sworn police officers and has strongly demonstrated police management and personnel oversight in a police department. Must be a graduate from at least one police command training school such as the FBI Academy or POLEX. Sound experience in budgetary responsibility, collective bargaining, computer literacy, and community policing is required. PA Act 120 Certified, possess a valid PA Driver’s license, be a US citizen, and reside within ten air miles of the township borders.
Salary negotiable, fringe benefit package. Successful applicant must pass a medical, psychological, and extensive background investigation.
